Scholarship Date:
Australian Catholic University (ACU) was established on January 1, 1991, through the merger of four Catholic tertiary institutions across eastern Australia. These institutions trace their origins back to the mid-1800s, focusing initially on preparing teachers for Catholic schools and later expanding to include nursing education for Catholic hospitals. ACU's governance structure includes a vice-chancellor and president responsible for strategic leadership and representation, along with deputy vice-chancellors overseeing specific policy areas. The university operates seven campuses across Australia, including locations in Ballarat, Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, and Sydney, with additional leadership centers in Adelaide and Townsville. In 2015, ACU expanded internationally by opening the Rome Centre in collaboration with the Catholic University of America, located in Rome, Italy.
